Overview

Join me on a three day expenditure on Tanzania's finest parks on the Northern circuit. Our safari expenditure starts from Tarangire National Park, which is one of the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Enjoy a beautiful scenery filled with hundreds of herds of elephants, and many other wildlife relying on the Tarangire river for water. This magical experience goes down to the Ngorongoro Crater, which is a UNESCO conservation site. Explore and learn more geographical facts on this venue. The journey does not end without driving along the Lake Manyara National Park, which provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. with more than 400 recorded species, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day.

Day 1 of Tour

  • After breakfast,we will drive to Tarangire National Park.
  • Tarangire gets its name from the river that threads its way through the Park.
  • Its the best place to see the Elephants and the Baobab trees.
  • It is famous for its dense wildlife population which is most spectacular from June which is the dry season. During this time thousands of animals (elephants, buffalos, giraffes, elands, hartebeest and wildebeest, zebras) migrate from dry Masai Steppe to Tarangire river looking for water. These are followed by predators like lions and leopards
  • It is also one of the few places in Tanzania where you can find Oryx, Greater and Lasser Kudus and occasionally, some  wild dogs.
  • It is also the birder's paradise with more resident breeding species than any where else in Tanzania. Raptors are everwhere. The Martial and Bateleur eagles, down to the tiny but vicious Pygmy falcon.
  • We will enjoy lunch in the Park and take a late afternoon drive to Lake Manyara for overnight stay.

Day 3 of Tour

  • Will have late breakfast and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara lies between the steep western wall of the rift valley and Lake Manyara.
  • From the entrance, the road penetrates a lush jungle like groundwater forest where hundreds of strong baboon troops, vervet and blue monkeys are looking for food between the ancient Mahogany trees.
  • This park is also famous for its tree climbing lions. They spend most of the day resting on top of Acacia trees which are around 8 meteres above the ground. Further along the forest, we will have a view of the woodlands, grasslands, swamps and beyond this, the Soda lake itself.
    • The Park also has a variety of birds (up to 400 species) including Flamingos, Pelicans, Storks, Ibis, Comorants, Egyptian Geese, etc.
    • Also the Park has huge heards of Buffalos, Elephants and Giraffes.
    • We will have lunch in the Park and then enjoy a late afternoon drive back to Arusha.
    • End of tour.
