Day 2

Day 2: Arusha - Serengeti National Park

After a good night’s sleep and an early breakfast, we set out from Arusha towards our destination, the Central Serengeti. Today, we have a long drive, there is no doubt about that. But as we head west and north, we have the possibility – if you are on safari in April and depending on the arrival of the rains – to see the Great Migration if it is still in the southern part of the Serengeti. (If not, it will of course be already in Central Serengeti, where we will soon be spending our time.) Our vehicles are rigorously maintained and designed for your comfort and safety; our drivers are renowned for their professionalism. So, sit back and relax, take in the amazing scenery as your adventure begins

Day 3

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

On this trip-of-a-lifetime, we now have a whole day to marvel at the natural wonders of the world’s greatest national park. Your experienced driver-guide will be on constant lookout, for the dozens of wildlife species present here: animals ‘on the move,’ animals hunting…or being hunted!

Each day is different here, full of surprises, but we focus of course on the Great Migration, that unique natural wonder which involves a cast of breathtaking numbers, literally hundreds of thousands of animals making their annual journey across the plains as they search for food. Zebra and wildebeest are the most numerous of the migrating animals, grazing on the short-grass plains. But your driver-guide will also be on the lookout for other wildlife, too, using his expertise and ‘eagle-eyes’ to try to find elephant, lions, buffalo, leopard, and cheetah – just some of the many, many species you will surely encounter in this unforgettable location.

Day 4

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

On your Third day in this wildlife paradise, you awake again to the sights, sound and scents of Africa. After breakfast, your driver-guide will be waiting for you, eager to show you yet more of the astonishing creatures of Central Serengeti.

Every day is united only in its ability to reveal astonishing sights in Africa’s finest wildlife setting. Although animal-spotting in the Central Serengeti is rewarding throughout the year, you are visiting the area during its peak season for wildlife. This is an area renowned for lion and cheetah, although of course sightings can never be guaranteed.

A real bonus in this part of the Serengeti would be to see a rare black rhino and your driver-guide will be on the lookout for this enigmatic and beautiful creature. Exhilarated but tired, you will welcome the comforts of your accommodation at the end of another unforgettable day. Relax in your camp surroundings before enjoying a hot meal in the wilderness, then fall asleep in comfort in this unique setting

Day 5

Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

The exciting sounds of Africa will rouse you from your sleep. We make the most of the day with a 08:00 start, heading off on our morning game-drive. Later, the adventure will continue when we travel up to Ngorongoro, another African icon.

It’s almost impossible to spend too much time in Serengeti and with more than 1.6 million herbivores – plus thousands of predators – there’s always something new and interesting to see. The changing seasons and natural light simply add to the diversity. This morning your driver-guide will help you spot some more of the many species at Serengeti, teaching you about their fascinating habits and habitats.

After a pleasant picnic lunch, it’s time to drive eastwards to visit another spectacular setting for Tanzania’s wildlife, the famous Ngorongoro Crater. On arrival, settle in at the lodge while a tasty, hot dinner is prepared for you. Tomorrow, the wonders of the crater await us.

Comfort, in the middle of the Tanzanian wilderness, is something people find difficult to imagine. But you will find it here! Its name comes from the nearby Ngorongoro Crater, one of the natural wonders of the world and from the distinctive tortilis tree of the Serengeti. The tortilis spreads its branches like an umbrella, offering shelter – an appropriate name for a camp where you will find every available comfort, together with the warmest of welcomes. At Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp you will enjoy an unforgettable, unparalleled ambience, a sense of being ‘right there’ in the heart of Mother Nature. Relax and reflect on the excitement of the day; dine and sleep beneath African skies, and enjoy a truly unforgettable safari camp experience.

Day 6

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour –Arusha/Airport

Today may be ‘departure day’, but there will be plenty of time to enjoy another true spectacle, before your thoughts turn to home. Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as a wonder of the world and your early morning game drive shows you why.

First, there’s the volcanic caldera (the world’s largest), full of grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty. Secondly, the permanent water of the crater floor supports a resident population of more than 25,000 large mammals. Here you’ll find many of the reasons you chose to come on safari: elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, wallowing hippo, waterbuck, baboons… even the rare black rhino finds shelter here.

After your early morning game drive, we have our picnic lunch in the crater before we return to the airport for your flight home. You will drive for 3 hours from Ngorongoro Crater floor to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
