Day 2 Samburu National Reserve

This will be an early morning start! Today is dedicated to a full-day exploration of Samburu National In order to catch the animals when they are most active, we need to be early and get to the park before it gets too warm. Samburu National park is very unique: the diverse landscape that you will come across includes a mixture of acacia, riverine forest, thorn trees, and grassland vegetation). This reserve is extremely peaceful, the sense of serenity that characterizes this reserve is mainly due to its considerable distance from the city and the industrial area; and the fact that for many years, this reserve was not accessible to people. Samburu is home to a diverse array of animal and bird species.  Gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, oryx, and reticulated giraffe can be found in abundance here.  Big cats (lions, cheetahs, and African leopards), as well as the elephant, Cape buffalo, and hippopotamus, can also be found here. Olive baboons, warthogs, Grant's gazelle,Kirk's dik-dik, impala, and waterbuck are all common in the park. Due to excessive poaching, black rhinoceros were not present in this reserve for over 25 years, they have just recently been re-introduced into the park. Bird lovers are in their happy haven here, as there are approximately 350 species of bird. The EwasoNg'iro River features vast numbers of Nile crocodiles.

Day 5 Maasai Mara National Reserve

Prepare for the grand finale of our journey as we embark on an unforgettable drive to the iconic Masai Mara, a destination that promises the pinnacle of safari experiences. Expansive and awe-inspiring, the Masai Mara stretches across approximately 1,510 square kilometers, strategically positioned on the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park derives its name as a tribute to the indigenous Maasai people, whose cultural richness is intertwined with the land's natural beauty. Nestled within the Serengeti ecosystem, the Masai Mara offers a unique and rare sighting of the Great Migration.

The Great Migration, a spectacle of unparalleled magnitude, involves the movement of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara. This migration is a seasonal phenomenon, characterized by dramatic river crossings at the Mara River. The journey northward occurs from late July to August, while the return journey south takes place in October. Witnessing this natural marvel is an extraordinary experience, where the landscape becomes a living canvas of movement and life.

As we venture into the heart of the Masai Mara, be prepared to witness the raw beauty of the wilderness and the intricate dance of wildlife in their natural habitat. The Masai Mara not only offers a front-row seat to the Great Migration but also unveils a rich tapestry of biodiversity, making it a fitting climax to our safari adventure.
