Day 1 Nairobi to Loisaba Conservancy
Your safari begins with a private transfer from your Nairobi hotel to Wilson Airport.
From here, you'll hop on a scenic scheduled flight north to Loisaba airstrip, flying over Kenya’s dramatic landscapes before arriving in the heart of Laikipia.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Loisaba Lodo Springs, where you can settle into your private tented suite and enjoy your first views of the conservancy.
In the afternoon, head out on your first guided game drive, exploring the open plains and wildlife-rich landscapes of Loisaba.
Return to camp for dinner and your first night under the African sky.

Day 2 Discovering the Loisaba Wilderness

Day 3 Choose Your Wilderness Adventure
Today is dedicated to experiencing Loisaba beyond the traditional safari. With exclusive access to the conservancy, you can tailor the day around your interests and discover the many ways to explore this extraordinary landscape.
Ride on horseback alongside plains game, trek through the bush with camels, join a guided walking safari with Samburu guides, or explore the conservancy by mountain bike. For guests interested in conservation, a visit to Loisaba's anti-poaching unit offers a fascinating insight into the work being done to protect Kenya's wildlife, including a demonstration by the highly trained tracker dogs.
Later in the day, head out on a final game drive in search of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs and the rare Grevy's zebra before enjoying a traditional safari sundowner overlooking the vast Laikipia wilderness.
Return to camp for a relaxed final evening under the African sky.

1. Best Time to Visit Laikipia Conservancy:
Loisaba Lodo Springs is open throughout the year, and each season offers a different safari experience. The best time to visit depends on your priorities, whether that is wildlife viewing, photography, fewer visitors or enjoying the landscape at its most dramatic.
• June to October – Best for wildlife viewing
The dry season is one of the most popular times to visit Laikipia. As water sources become more limited, wildlife gathers around permanent water areas, making sightings easier. The cooler, dry weather is ideal for game drives, walking safaris and outdoor activities.
• November to December – Best for landscapes and photography
The short rains transform the conservancy with fresh green vegetation. This is an excellent period for photographers, birdwatchers and travellers looking for beautiful scenery with fewer visitors.
• January to March – Best for birdlife and young animals
Laikipia remains green, birdlife is abundant and many animals give birth during this period. It can be an excellent time to witness young wildlife and increased predator activity.
• April to May – Best for quieter safari experiences
The long rainy season brings fewer visitors, dramatic skies and lush landscapes. Some activities may occasionally be affected by weather conditions, but the conservancy remains a beautiful destination for travellers seeking tranquillity and exclusivity.
Unlike many traditional safari destinations, Laikipia offers exceptional experiences throughout the year thanks to its private conservancies, diverse habitats and wide range of activities beyond traditional game drives.
2. What are the luggage restrictions?
Safari flights operate with small aircraft and have limited luggage capacity. Guests should bring soft-sided bags only (no hard suitcases).
The standard luggage allowance is 15 kg per person, including hand luggage.
Additional luggage allowance can be purchased in advance, subject to availability and aircraft capacity. Please contact us before travelling if you require extra baggage allowance.

Is this a private safari?
Accommodation at Loisaba Lodo Springs is private. Unless an exclusive safari vehicle has been requested, game drives are shared with a small number of guests, maximum 6 people per vehicle, with excellent viewing opportunities from every seat.
How many nights do you recommend?
We recommend a minimum stay of three nights to fully experience Loisaba Conservancy and enjoy the wide range of activities available, including game drives, walking safaris and other wilderness experiences.
Can I combine this safari with other destinations?
Yes. Loisaba combines particularly well with the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu or a beach extension on Kenya's coast. Contact us if you would like to customise your safari itinerary.
Is this suitable for family safaris?
Yes. Families are more than welcome at Loisaba Lodo Springs. The camp offers spacious accommodation and a wide range of activities suitable for different ages. Some activities, such as horse riding and mountain biking, may have age or experience requirements.
