Your journey begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your Go Africa Tours host and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge. From the moment you arrive, you will have a familiar point of contact to assist with your arrival and help you settle into the beginning of your Tanzanian adventure.

This evening, we will gather at the lodge for a welcome drink and informal introduction to the journey. Milly, your host, will share an overview of the safari itinerary, introduce the destinations you will explore and answer any questions before the adventure begins. It is also the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and enjoy your first evening together in Tanzania.

Your first night is spent at Arusha Coffee Lodge, a tranquil retreat set within one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations. Surrounded by tropical gardens, fragrant coffee bushes and mature trees, the lodge provides the perfect setting to unwind after your international journey. The elegant plantation-style suites combine colonial character with modern comfort, while the gardens, swimming pool and peaceful atmosphere create a welcoming introduction to Tanzania.

After breakfast at Arusha Coffee Lodge, we begin our journey into the wilderness with a scenic flight towards Tarangire National Park.

Flying over Tanzania’s changing landscapes offers a spectacular introduction to the country — from volcanic highlands and rural communities to the vast wilderness areas that define the northern safari circuit.

Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will meet your expert safari guide and begin your first game drive through Tarangire National Park.

As the afternoon unfolds, arrive at Tarangire Treetops, a unique safari lodge designed to immerse guests in the natural beauty of its surroundings.

After time to settle in, gather for sundowners as the sun sets over Tarangire, followed by a traditional Maasai-inspired boma dinner — a memorable way to end your first full day on safari.

Begin your morning with a guided bush walk, offering a completely different perspective of the African wilderness.

Afternoon Safari in Tarangire

After a relaxed lunch at Tarangire Treetops, head back into the national park for an afternoon game drive.

As the temperatures begin to cool, wildlife becomes increasingly active. The softer afternoon light creates excellent conditions for photography and memorable encounters, whether watching elephants gather near the river, giraffes moving through the woodland or predators beginning their evening activity.

Return to Tarangire Treetops as the sun begins to set, where your elevated suite provides a peaceful retreat overlooking the surrounding wilderness.

Enjoy dinner at the lodge and another evening immersed in the sights and sounds of the African bush.

After breakfast, set out for another safari through the landscapes of Tarangire National Park.

With each drive, the wilderness reveals something new — from elephants moving through ancient woodland to giraffes, antelope and birdlife inhabiting the diverse ecosystems around the park. Your expert guide will help you discover the details that make Tarangire such a unique safari destination.

Discover Maasai Traditions

Return to camp for lunch before experiencing another side of Tanzania through a visit with a local Maasai community.

This cultural encounter offers insight into Maasai traditions, daily life and their deep connection with the land. Learn about traditional homes, livestock, customs and the values that have been preserved through generations.

Sundowners & Night Safari

Later in the afternoon, return to the wilderness as the golden light transforms the Tarangire landscape.

Pause for sundowners in the bush, enjoying refreshments while watching the sunset across the surrounding wilderness — one of the timeless rituals of safari life.

After dark, experience Tarangire from a completely different perspective with a night game drive. Guided by spotlights, you may encounter nocturnal species such as bush babies, civets and porcupines, while also having the opportunity to observe predators becoming active under the cover of darkness.

After breakfast at Tarangire Treetops, we continue our journey towards one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas: the Serengeti National Park.

Leaving the landscapes of Tarangire behind, we board our light aircraft for a scenic flight across northern Tanzania. From above, we witness the incredible scale and diversity of this region — from volcanic highlands and rural communities to the vast open plains that have made the Serengeti legendary.

Upon landing in the heart of the Serengeti, we begin our introduction to this extraordinary ecosystem.

After arriving at camp and enjoying lunch, there is time to settle into your surroundings before heading out on your first afternoon game drive.

Covering almost 15,000 square kilometres, the Serengeti is one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations. Its endless grasslands, remarkable concentration of animals and the annual movements of millions of wildebeest and other herbivores create one of the most spectacular natural environments on Earth.

Our home in the Serengeti is Serengeti Pioneer Camp, an intimate luxury tented camp located in the central Serengeti.

With just 12 tents, the camp offers an authentic safari atmosphere combined with comfort, exceptional hospitality and a prime location near the Moru Kopjes — a dramatic landscape known for outstanding wildlife viewing throughout the year.

As the sun begins to set, we pause in the bush for a traditional sundowner experience — enjoying drinks while watching the colours of the Serengeti change across the endless plains.

As darkness falls, we return to camp for dinner and another night surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

A Full Day Exploring the Serengeti

After breakfast at camp, we set out for a full day of exploration across the endless plains of the Serengeti.

With no need to rush between destinations, today allows us to fully embrace the rhythm of safari — following wildlife movements, discovering different landscapes and spending uninterrupted time in one of Africa’s most extraordinary ecosystems.

The Serengeti rewards patience, and every drive offers the possibility of new discoveries, from large herds moving across the plains to predators following the daily patterns of the wilderness.

Picnic Lunch in the Heart of the Wilderness

At midday, we pause for a specially prepared picnic lunch surrounded by the beauty of the African bush.

Dining in the open wilderness is one of the timeless experiences of safari life — a moment to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and continue exploring without having to leave the heart of the action.

After lunch, we continue our game drive, following the changing light and the wildlife encounters that make every safari unique.

Later in the afternoon, return to camp and take time to relax with a refreshing drink while watching the sunset transform the plains.

These quieter moments — away from the excitement of the game drive — are an essential part of the safari experience, allowing us to slow down and fully appreciate the beauty and atmosphere of the wilderness.

From the Serengeti Plains to the Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast in the Serengeti, we enjoy one final morning game drive towards the airstrip.

The early hours are among the most rewarding moments of safari, when the cooler temperatures bring the wilderness to life. There may be opportunities to witness predators returning from their nightly activities, large herds beginning their day and the Serengeti landscape illuminated by the soft morning light.

Leaving the endless plains behind, we board our flight towards Manyara Airstrip and continue our journey into the lush highlands surrounding Ngorongoro.

Arrival at The Manor at Ngorongoro

Our next chapter takes us to The Manor at Ngorongoro, an elegant countryside retreat inspired by the charm and architecture of a grand Cape Dutch estate.

Set within a working coffee plantation, The Manor offers a completely different atmosphere from the safari camps — peaceful gardens, beautifully designed cottages and a slower pace surrounded by the green landscapes of Tanzania’s highlands.

After lunch at the lodge, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Explore the coffee plantation, take a horseback ride through the estate, enjoy afternoon tea, relax by the pool or simply unwind in the peaceful surroundings.

An Evening in the Highlands

As the day comes to an end, we gather for dinner in the elegant surroundings of the lodge, enjoying the warmth and tranquillity of this unique retreat before the next adventure begins.

Descending Into the Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast at The Manor at Ngorongoro, we set out for a full-day exploration of one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders: the Ngorongoro Crater.

Formed millions of years ago following the collapse of a vast volcanic mountain, this UNESCO World Heritage Site has created one of the most unique wildlife environments on Earth. Its enclosed ecosystem supports an exceptional concentration of animals, creating one of Tanzania’s most remarkable safari experiences.

As we descend along the crater rim, we take in breathtaking views across the vast caldera below, where open grasslands, forests, wetlands and the shimmering waters of Lake Magadi create a spectacular setting for the day ahead.

Wildlife Encounters Inside the Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, hippos, hyenas and large herds of grazing animals.

With its unique landscape and high density of wildlife, the crater offers excellent opportunities for unforgettable sightings, including the possibility of encountering the rare black rhinoceros moving across the open plains.

At midday, we enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the beauty of the crater floor.

After a full day exploring the crater, we return to The Manor at Ngorongoro to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge — from its beautiful gardens to its elegant countryside atmosphere.

A Relaxed Farewell to Tanzania

After a leisurely breakfast at The Manor at Ngorongoro, we begin our journey back towards Manyara Airstrip for our scenic flight to Arusha, offering one final opportunity to admire Tanzania’s remarkable landscapes from above.

Afternoon at Arusha Coffee Lodge

Upon arrival in Arusha, we return to Arusha Coffee Lodge, where we spend the afternoon enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the coffee estate before our international flights.

The lodge provides the perfect place to slow down and reflect on the journey. Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful gardens, comfortable lounges, restaurant and bar throughout the afternoon — whether that means a relaxed lunch, a coffee overlooking the plantation, browsing the boutique or simply taking time to enjoy the final moments in Tanzania.

For those wishing to refresh before their flight, shower facilities are available at the lodge.

Journey Home

At the appropriate time, a private transfer will take us to Kilimanjaro International Airport for our onward flights.

As our hosted Tanzanian adventure comes to an end, we leave with memories of extraordinary landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters, shared experiences and the friendships created along the way — taking home a deeper appreciation for this remarkable continent.
