Overview

Kenya luxury safari begins with a drive through central Kenya as you enjoy coffee and pineapple plantations, north across the equator to the rugged landscapes of Samburu Reserve. Safe & secure private sanctuary, Ol Pejeta can guarantee a hassle-free safari experience with amazing wildlife viewing. Proceed to Lake Nakuru N.p then further to Kenya's most spectacular of all parks and reserves, Masai Mara Game Reserve where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five.

Day 1

 Nairobi / Samburu

Pick up at the airport or hotel, after which you are driven north to Samburu on the south bank of the Uaso Nyiro River. North of the Equator some of the animals and vegetation are a little different from those commonly found south, take a few minutes relaxing and there after proceed for the evening game drive which will bring you to the elephant bedroom tower. The presence, however, of the river - and its shady trees - attracts plenty of wildlife. Giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck and zebra (including the endangered Grevy's zebra) from the surrounding savannah plains trek to the water. Lion, leopard and cheetah are also quite easy to spot, thanks in part to the lack of grass cover. Samburu is also home to large herds of elephants, and the reserve is well known for providing the opportunity to see wildlife that only lives in the dry north of Kenya. Be on the look out for gerenuks - these odd, yet distinguished looking, gazelle have long necks, and stand on their hind legs to feed. Return to the lodge / camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Masai mara

Spend the whole day in the Masai Mara which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where a visitor may see animals in the same super abundance as existed a century ago. Reason being that this hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by Mara and Talek rivers full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons masai mara has greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic spectacle from July to October, annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and Zebras, predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions closely follow these herds. The plain is literally covered with these animals. Grunts and other animal sounds are heard, and territorial fights are commonplace. Soak in the abundance of untamed wilderness, fresh and natural scenery, filled with exotic wildlife during our expertly guided game drives enjoyed in open vehicles
